Our Services
Counseling focuses a great deal on emotions and how we got to where we’re at. We may dig deep into your past, your experiences, your behaviors, coping skills, or your thought patterns to explore the driving force of the problems you face. We will work extensively if needed to unlearn skills you’ve developed that are now maladaptive and are no longer serving you well. Counseling can be a lengthy, slow process, or your counseling experience may be relatively brief. We may only need to work on managing stressors and challenges related to a recent change in life, to work through some big decision that you need to make, or to work on goal setting. What you need and how long it takes to acquire is all up to you.
Some approaches you may experience while in counseling include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.
